You're not just testing an app.
You're mapping the future of 3D cave survey standards.

SpeleoMap is in active development with cavers across the world. Every log you send, every passage you walk, every bug you catch — it goes directly into the next build. You're not just testing an app. You're mapping the future of 3D cave survey standards. 25 builds in 4 months. That's because of testers like you.

The Program

What is SpeleoMap?

SpeleoMap turns your iPhone into a complete cave survey instrument. MapLines, tape lines, pack mode, survey stations, photos, notes — all offline, no account, no internet required underground. iPhones with LiDAR also capture real-time 3D scans of passages.

It also includes Hike Line. GPS trail mapping with elevation profiles, pins, destination bearing, and mid-hike scans. Surface and underground work live in the same project.

Who we're looking for

We want cavers who actually go underground. Specifically:

You don't need to be technical. You need to be honest about what worked, what didn't, and what felt wrong. That's the job.

Why it matters

Cave survey hasn't changed fundamentally in decades. A four-person team, a tape, a compass, a clinometer, and a sketchpad. SpeleoMap doesn't replace that crew — it amplifies what every member of it can do. When every person on your team runs SpeleoMap, you collect four times the data. Every station, every passage, every photo — captured by everyone, not just the lead.

Every build you test brings the caving community closer to a tool that's ours — built for how we actually work underground, exportable to the formats we already use, and designed to leave no tape behind.

A portion of every subscription goes toward cave conservation. The testers building this app are the same community that benefits from it.

Joining TestFlight adds your email to our beta list so we can send build notes. Your email address stays confidential and is never shared.

How to send debug logs

Debug logs are the most valuable thing you can send. They show exactly what the app was doing when something went wrong — and they contain no cave location data. GPS coordinates are stripped from logs on your device before they ever leave your phone.

To send a log:

You can also go to Settings → Logs to view and export logs manually. Send them any time — after a crash, after a weird heading, after pack mode does something unexpected. No detail is too small.
