No tape behind
SpeleoMap surveys with the iPhone's sensors, not flagging tape on the walls. Your datum is a GPS fix and a calibration. Mark it with a scrap of tape your crew can tie in to, and take it with you when you leave.
Locations stay on your phone
The entrance fix, entrance photos and survey data never upload. Diagnostics strip coordinates before anything is sent. You decide who gets a bundle or a report: your grotto, a land manager or a conservancy.
A baseline you can return to
LiDAR scans and measurable photos of formations, passages and entrances make a permanent 3D record. If something is broken, dug or vandalized, you have before.
Records land managers can use
Georeferenced exports, a PDF report with plan view and station table, and, with a sensor, air readings at every station give a land manager or conservancy something solid to work from.
Conservancies, get listed
Cave conservancies, land trusts and grottos with 501(c)(3) status can apply through the Conservation Register to appear in the app's directory.
