Every cave you survey is a cave on record. SpeleoMap is built around the principle that documentation is the first act of conservation — and tape on walls is a footprint that doesn't belong there.

• No tape behind. SpeleoMap uses the iPhone's sensors to survey without physical markers. Your datum is a GPS coordinate and a calibration state. The tape stays in your pack.
• Conservation register. submit cave location and entrance data directly from the app. Verified GPS coordinates, entrance photos, and survey data the record that protects the cave from development, vandalism, and unmanaged access.
• 3D documentation. LiDAR scans of formations, passages, and entrance features create a permanent spatial record. If something changes, you have before.
• Built by a caver. SpeleoMap is an NSS member project. Conservation isn't a feature it's the reason the app exists.
