Survey trips are crews, not solo walks. Everyone records on their own phone, and at the exit it all merges into one survey: lines, stations, scans, photos and notes. No accounts, no cloud, no signal.
How a team trip works
Merging everyone's work
Split the cave, not the data.
Send one pair down the left lead and one down the right. Each phone records its own Cave Lines. Back at the junction or the car, AirDrop a .speleobundle to the crew leader and it merges into the same project.
Everyone's work, labeled.
Merged items carry an import_ prefix, so you always know whose line is whose. Imported lines arrive without the sender's calibration; Tie In to Survey moves and rotates them onto your calibrated line.
One Pro scans for everyone
Only one person on the crew needs an iPhone Pro. They scan; everyone else records lines, photos and notes. Scans, LiDAR photos and LiDAR video stay measurable on every iPhone they reach.
Pick up where the last trip stopped
Start a new Cave Line at any station from a previous trip, or from an imported Survex or Therion survey, and push the survey further. Lines from one workout share an origin, so they fit together without extra work.
Reports and quick shares
A record for the grotto.
The PDF report carries the project, team, dates, entrance, calibration and a page per Cave Line with an LRUD station table. Hand it in at the meeting, or send the Survex and Therion files to whoever draws the map.
Small shares, no bundle.
Need to send one thing? Share a single scan, one Cave Line, or a photo or video straight from the app. A LiDAR photo keeps its depth and never carries a location.
