Report a problem, email support, Diagnostics and your version.
Report a problem: Send Diagnostics in four taps.
When something goes wrong in SpeleoMap (a crash, a line that looks wrong, a device that won't connect), send Diagnostics right away:
- Open Settings, Support.
- Leave Diagnostics on.
- Tap Email. Mail opens to support@speleomap.com with the Diagnostics file attached.
- Say what you were doing and what went wrong, then tap Send.
Send it before you close or reinstall the app: Diagnostics cover your last 5 sessions. In a cave, the email waits in Mail's Outbox and sends when you have signal.
For common fixes first, see 11 Troubleshooting.Support: Questions, bugs or a device request.
Settings, Support, Email opens an email to support@speleomap.com. No Mail app? Write to us from the support page.
Website, Facebook and YouTube: Help, other cavers and videos, online.
Website opens the support page at speleomap.com: this guide, the FAQ and updates. Facebook opens the SpeleoMap page, in the Facebook app if you have it: ask other cavers and see what's new. YouTube opens the SpeleoMap channel: learning videos and how-tos. All three need signal; underground, use the Guide in Settings, which works offline.
Diagnostics: Locations and personal details are removed first.
Diagnostics picks what goes with the email: Last 5 (to start) sends your last 5 sessions, Choose lets you pick, and Off sends none. A session is one app launch; the last 20 are kept. With Choose, tap Sessions: each shows when it started, how long it ran and its size, and Crash marks one that ended in a crash. Tick the ones to send (All or None at the top right). Pick the session the problem happened in, even if you've opened SpeleoMap since. Send it as soon as something goes wrong: in a cave, the email waits in Mail's Outbox.
Before anything leaves your phone, SpeleoMap removes coordinates, altitude, magnetic readings, device serial numbers, email addresses and project names (they show as Project 1, Project 2 and so on). Nothing is sent unless you send the email.
Details in the Privacy Policy.Version: At the bottom of Settings: which SpeleoMap you have.
The bottom of Settings shows your app version, such as SpeleoMap™ v1.0, and your iPhone model and iOS version: handy when you report a problem. Which features your iPhone gets (LiDAR or not) is on Devices.
