Laser Meter

Pair a meter, test it, and read its status.

Pair a meter: Once, before your first trip.
Turn on Meter and tap Pair. Switch the meter on, turn on its Bluetooth and keep it close. Tap Search for meters, then tap yours to pair. SpeleoMap remembers it and reconnects when it's on nearby.
Beta and not supported: What the list shows.
Meters SpeleoMap can read are listed first. A BETA tag means support is new and not fully tested yet; it works, and we'd like to hear how. Every other Bluetooth device nearby is under Other Bluetooth Devices, closed to start and marked Not supported: SpeleoMap can't read these yet. Tap one to email us its name and ask for it.
Test shot: Check it before you trust it.
Test shot fires the meter and shows the reading. Compare it with the meter's own screen.
What the status means: Connected, waiting, or Bluetooth off.
  • Connected or Ready: good to go.
  • Waiting for the meter: switch it on nearby.
  • Bluetooth is off: turn it on in Control Center.
  • Bluetooth permission is off: Settings app, Apps, SpeleoMap, Bluetooth (1.5.1 Permissions).
Change or forget: A new meter, or none.
Search for a different meter pairs another. Forget this meter unpairs it. Opened from the camera, Back to camera takes you back to your shot.
Using it: Shots, splays and mounting.
Mounting, shooting and every supported device: 10.1 Laser Meters and Instruments.
