Calibrate a Style
The calibration screen, step by step, and what its messages mean.
The steps: What the screen asks, in order.
- Stand where you want to start. Hold the phone up so the camera can see, then tap Start mark.
- Hold the phone and walk to where you want to finish, at least 3 m (10 ft) away. Tap End mark.
- Walk back to the start. Tap Start calibration, put the phone away, and go to the end mark in this style.
- At the end mark, take the phone out and tap Done.
Do another run: A better average.
After a run saves, tap Do another run or close. Each run shows on the style's page (9.12.3 Styles).
When it says: What each message means.
- The camera hasn't found its place yet: move the phone slowly and try the mark again.
- Go a little farther: the end mark must be at least 3 m (10 ft) from the start.
- Couldn't start the background workout: a survey or hike workout is running; end it first.
- That run didn't save: start at the start mark, keep the phone put away the whole way and keep moving until the end mark.
