Tie In and Keep Surveying

Line up an imported survey and push it further.

Why tie in: An imported survey has its own frame.
A Survex or Therion survey arrives in its own frame, often turned at an unknown angle. A teammate's bundle arrives uncalibrated, because their calibration belongs to their project. Tie In puts it on your map.
Tie In to Survey: Two shared points.
In the Cave Lines list, tap the imported line's anchor menu (it reads Auto until anchored) and choose Tie In to Survey. Pick two points that exist in both surveys: the First pair sets position, the Second pair sets direction (pick it as far from the first as you can). For each pair, choose the Imported station and the Existing one, then tap Apply. It only shows once the project has a calibrated line (1.4 Calibration).
Check the result: Scale is never changed.
Tie In moves and turns the survey but never stretches it. If the two baselines differ in length, it tells you by how much. A big misfit usually means a pair isn't really the same point, or the file's units are wrong.
Keep surveying from it: Push an imported survey further.
Tap New Cave Line and pick an imported station under Start at (Cave Line). To line it up with a survey you walked, use Tie In to Survey from the anchor menu once the project has a calibrated line.
Stations with no position: Place them where they really are.
Imported stations with no position wait as Unassigned. Stand at the real station and place it (3.3.5 Managing Stations).
