Managing Stations

Rename, delete, find, place and attach.

Rename: Match a team's numbers.
On a Cave Line's page, swipe a station left or press and hold it, and tap Rename. Change the label and tap Save. Handy when you're matching a traditional team's station numbers.
Delete: The line and scans stay.
Same menu, Delete. It removes the station for good; photos and scans on it stay in the gallery but lose their assignment. Deleting a station never changes the Cave Line or its scans.
The Stations list: Every station in the project.
Details tab, Stations: every station grouped by line in its color, with what's on it (media, scans, notes, tape, annotations, splays). Sort by line, newest or oldest. Tap one to open its page.
Unassigned imported stations: Put them where they really are.
Imported stations with no position wait under UNASSIGNED in the Stations list. Stand at the real station and place it: Drop Station, Measure, Unassigned, or tap it in the list and Place a station here.
Put things on a station: Photos, air readings and laser shots.
  • Photos and video: Assign in the viewer (6.3.2 Tools, Import and Sharing).
  • Air readings: Details, Notes, Env; press and hold a reading for Attach by Time or Assign to Station (10.2 Environment Sensor).
  • A saved rangefinder reading: Details, Notes, Range; press and hold it and tap Attach to Station as Splays. A reading with no direction can't attach.
Notes and symbols: All of them can go in the PDF report.
Note drops a text note; Annotation drops a cave map symbol from the NSS or KSS set (chosen in Display settings). Every note in the project is listed under Notes on the Details tab, with saved measurements and rangefinder readings (Save Measurements and Notes), and the PDF report can include all three.
The Annotations list: Every map symbol in one place.
Details tab, Annotations: every symbol grouped by category. Tap one to change its type; press and hold for Change Type or Delete.
