Everything about your project, in one tab.
The Details tab is the same for both Cave Survey and Hike Line projects. It's where your project lives — name, team, notes, meta, annotations, export, and import, all in one place.

Project name
Projects are auto-named by date when created. Tap the name field at the top of the Details tab to rename it anytime — call it the cave name, the trip date, or whatever makes sense for your workflow. Changes save automatically when you leave the field.
Notes
A free-form notes field for the whole project — trip description, route conditions, access notes, weather, anything worth keeping. Notes auto-save as you type. Appears on exported PDF reports.
Team
Enter your crew as comma-separated names. This is the survey team for the trip — it appears in exports and PDF reports alongside the project name and date.
Meta Card
Project timestamps and GPS
The meta card shows the key facts about your project at a glance:
- Started. date and time the project was created
- Entry GPS. the locked entrance coordinate, displayed in your chosen coordinate format. Shows "Not locked" if no GPS fix was captured
- Calibration. the current calibration state (A, B, or C) from the most recent cave survey workout
If the project includes Hike Lines, the meta card also shows total hiking distance and duration across all hike lines in the project.
Annotations
Project notes and annotations
The Details tab has two expandable sections for project-level annotations:
- Project Notes. freeform notes dropped anywhere in the project, not tied to a specific station or line. Add a new note with the + button. Tap any note to edit it.
- Annotations. cartographic symbols and hazard markers dropped on your Map Lines or Hike Lines. Tap any annotation to change its type. See Notes & Annotations for the full list of annotation types.
Export and Import
Export from the Details tab
Tap Export at the bottom of the Details tab to open the export sheet. Choose exactly what leaves — individual Map Lines, scans, photos, Hike Lines, or everything at once. Available formats include Survex, OBJ, PLY, USDZ, GPX, KML, PDF report, and CSV. See Export for a full walkthrough.
Import from the Details tab
Tap Import at the bottom of the Details tab to bring in files from teammates — shared photos, notes, scans, Map Lines, or full SpeleoMap bundles. AirDrop a bundle from a teammate's device and import it directly into your project. See Import for a full walkthrough.
