Getting Around

How the screens fit together, and what every arrow means.

Home: Your projects and the way into Settings.
Home lists your projects, newest first. Tap one to open it, or New Project to start one. The gear at the top right opens Settings. See 1.3 Projects.
The five tabs: Each project has the same five.
  • Workout: start and end a caving, hiking or training workout, and your past workouts.
  • Action: record and follow Cave Lines, Hike Lines and Tape Lines while a workout runs; your lists when none does.
  • Scans: LiDAR and ThermDAR scans.
  • Media: photos and videos.
  • Details: the project's name, counts, notes, info, Export and Import.
Moving between screens: Back, Done and Cancel are always in the same place.
The back arrow at the top left goes back one screen. Screens that slide up from the bottom (sheets) have Done or Cancel at the top left; you can also swipe them down to close.
Arrows: Every arrow means one thing.
  • › goes to another screen.
  • ⌄ opens a list or section right there; ⌃ closes it.
  • ↗ leaves SpeleoMap: email, a website or the Files app.
Everything that opens starts closed. Expand · Collapse opens or closes a whole page of them at once. See the icon list.
On the maps: Tap the map to clear the screen.
A tap on the map hides or shows the tools; REC, the environment readout and warnings stay up. One tool bar opens at a time, under the row of tools.
Text size: Bigger or smaller text, one setting for the whole app.
Settings, Display, Text and Font. Labels on maps and 3D views, the scan viewer and the small counts on lists stay the same size so they always fit. See Display.
