Our Mission

Cave survey, cartography, and conservation leaving no tape behind.

SpeleoMap is a cave survey you carry in your pocket. Walk the passage and your iPhone records the survey line, the stations and the shape of the cave with LiDAR, fully offline underground. Along the way you document what you find with photos, LiDAR photos you can measure later and video, each one tied to the station where you took it.

Back on the surface, that survey becomes cartography: plan views, Survex and Therion files, GIS layers and 3D models you can print, ready for your grotto, the landowner or the cave registry. Every trip is also a workout, logged to Apple Health with the time underground, the effort of the climb and crawl, and your rope and training sessions, so the work of caving counts too.

All of it serves conservation. A portion of every subscription goes to cave conservation groups (Conservation), and a good map helps cavers and landowners look after what’s there.

And no tape behind means two things. No tape measure: the iPhone measures the passage, so there’s no fiberglass tape strung through the cave. And no flagging tape left behind: you survey without marking the cave, and leave it as you found it.
