Set Up a Print
What it makes, print mode, the print bar, presets and settings.
What it makes: Turns a finished scan into a print you can hold.
A closed, printable solid built from a scan, sized and turned to sit flat on your printer's bed, ready for Orca Slicer, Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer or Cura. No scaling in the slicer.
Open print mode: Export before leaving, or the work resets.
Open a finished scan and tap the printer, at the bottom of the tool column above the scale bar. The column above it becomes Cut, Size, Quality, Strength and Color: tap one to open its bar along the bottom, with every setting named above its options. Tap the printer again to leave; leaving resets the cut, settings and build, so export first.
The print bar: Tells you the next step and the final size.
A status line says what to do next (Pick settings, then Build; Building…; Ready - Export). Below it: the preset menu, then Build (the hammer; it turns into Cancel, the X, while building), Edit (the pen tip) and Export, in that order. After a build the status line shows the full size, W × D × H: check it fits. Every Build deletes small loose bits that aren't joined to the model.
Presets: A quick start for common prints, or save yours.
- Display: 180 mm, 4 mm wall, flat base.
- Floor plan: 180 mm, 2 mm wall, flat base; cuts the scan to the floor and lower walls (the lower 45%), so nothing overhangs.
- Whole cave: 210 mm, 4 mm wall, height ×1.5, no base; clears any cut.
Save current… keeps your own settings as a preset (the settings, not the cut); Delete a saved preset removes one.
Settings: Fine-tune the build; supports are left to your slicer.
- Size: the longest side - 25, 50, 100, 200 or 400 mm, Actual size (1:1, scale it in your slicer) or Custom; height ×1, ×1.5 or ×2; ceiling down; parts.
- Quality: smooth, fill holes (up to about 0.2 m or 0.5 m), detail Normal, Fine, Max or Ultra.
- Strength: wall 2, 4 or 6 mm; flat base under the floor.
- Color: below.
Overhangs such as the cave roof are left to your slicer: tree supports, on build plate only.
