Save Measurements and Notes
Keep a number, and find it again.
Four kinds of note: Tells them apart by where each one comes from.
- Text: a note you typed.
- Range: Rangefinder readings.
- Measure: a measurement you saved in a viewer.
- Env: a reading from your environment sensor.
All of them sit in one list: Details → Notes.
Range notes: Land on the station you opened the camera from.
In the camera, Rangefinder logs a distance and the angle up or down for each shot. Tap Save to write the readings to a note and start a new set; leaving Rangefinder saves any you haven't. The note goes on the station if you opened the camera from one, otherwise on the project (Rangefinder and Laser Meter).
Save a measurement: Keeps exactly the readout you see, nothing else.
Every viewer that measures has Save: a scan, a cave line's page, a hike line's page, LiDAR photos and LiDAR video. Each measure bar reads Save, tools, Clear. Save is dimmed until a readout is on screen; a tap keeps exactly that readout. The eraser clears the points.
What it keeps: Enough to find and trust a reading later.
The tool, the readout, where you measured, the points you tapped, and the station or pin the item belongs to. The title says the tool and the source, for example Shot · Cave line B.
Live maps are scratch: Where to measure when you want to keep it.
The cave and hike maps measure while you move but have no Save. To keep one, measure on the line's page afterwards.
Find it again: Filter, sort and group your notes.
Each row in Notes shows its kind's icon; a measurement shows where it was taken. Filter All, Text, Range, Measure or Env. Sort by Newest, Oldest or A–Z, or group by Type (one group per tool), Source (per scan, photo, video or line) or Station (in line order, project notes last).
Take it with you: Get notes off the phone and to your team.
The PDF report has switches for Notes, Rangefinder and Measurements. Notes travel in project bundles, and Export → Notes sends them on their own.
