What You Can Import

Where to import, and every file SpeleoMap takes.

Where to import: Start here for any file a teammate sends.
Tap Import at the bottom of a project's Details tab and pick a file. A .speleobundle AirDropped to you opens on its own. For a teammate's SpeleoMap project, see Team Merge. Import also takes photos, text notes and any SpeleoMap file a teammate sends (a scan, cave line, tape line, hike, LiDAR video, pin, station and the rest). They arrive unassigned; attach them to stations later.

An AirDropped bundle merges into your most recent project, with everything tagged import_.

What it takes: SpeleoMap files, surveys, tracks and media.
  • SpeleoMap files: a .speleobundle, any one item (scan, Cave Line, tape line, hike, pin, station, photo, video, note, workout) and the Export files (.speleosurvey, .speleogis, .speleotrail, .speleo3d, .speleomedia).
  • Surveys: Survex .svx, a compiled .3d, and Therion .th (8.3.2 Survey Files).
  • GPS tracks: .gpx from any GPS app.
  • Photos and video: JPEG, HEIC, PNG, TIFF, GIF, WebP, MOV, MP4 and M4V.
The picker only lets you pick files it can read.
Photos and video: Bring in shots from another camera.
Tap Import at the top right of the Media tab: Pick Files (a camera or SD card reader shows under Locations) or From Photos. JPEG, HEIC, PNG, TIFF, GIF and WebP photos; MOV, MP4 and M4V video. Everything in the file stays with it: date taken, location and any depth. Imports from Files are also saved to the Photos app; picks from Photos aren't saved again. Each lands in Media tagged Imported; tap Assign to put it on a station.
Results: What each file became.
After an import, RESULTS lists each file and what it became, or why it was skipped. The same list is kept in 8.3.4 Import History.
