3.3.3 · Survey a Cave
Station Kinds
Every kind of station and its pin color.
Plain stations: Long-press, or a line's end.
A long-press on the map drops a plain station, and tapping End drops one at the end of the line. Plain stations are the backbone of the survey.
Media stations: Photo, Video and Thermal.
Photo (green), Video (cyan: a video pin, and the end of a LiDAR video) and Thermal (orange-red: a thermal photo or video).
Scan stations: Start and end of a scan.
Scan (blue) and ThermDAR (yellow), each at the start and end of the scan.
Measure and log stations: Tape, Note, Annotation, Environment.
Tape (amber), Note (purple), Annotation (pink) and Environment (teal: a station that is just an air reading).
Rescue stations: Patient and tight spots.
Patient (bright red, drawn larger) marks the injured caver; Tight spot (orange) marks a squeeze for the litter team. Their colors don't change, so they always stand out (3.6 Rescue).
Imported stations: From another survey.
Stations from a Survex or Therion import are marked as imported, so you can always tell them from the ones you walked. One without a position waits as Unassigned until you place it (3.3.5 Managing Stations, 8.3 Import).
Change the colors: In Display.
Settings, Profile, Display, Colors: pick a color for Scan, Photo, Video, Thermal, Note, Tape, Annotation, Environment and ThermDAR (and hike pins). Reset puts them back. The Grayscale scheme draws them in grays (9.1.3 Display).
